This article contains all the options for necromancer characters who want to create Undead Minions, in the form of corporeal Wights or Wight Lords, or incorporeal Wraiths or Wraith Lords. See the main article on Undead Minions for all the other rules.

Undead Minions are typically made via Spells from the Necromancy Realm, but can also be made via some Powers.

Please note that Undead Minions are as powerful as they'll ever be, once created. They do not, in any sense of the word, "level up".

Minion Levels

Each of the four types of Minion has some base abilities. General unchangeable abilities are presented in the main article on Undead Minions. Below, abilities that all Minions of a given type have for free, are state as having a cost of 0. Optional abilities are stated as having a cost higher than 0, and in all cases the cost on any given line is the total cost to have that amount of ability; you do not add up costs from previous lines containing less powerful versions of the exact same ability.

The costs stated in this article are all in Minion Levels, which have no formal acronym or abbreviation, since they are only used in this one place.

In addition to the cost of chosen abilities, there's a base cost of 2 Minion Levels for a Wight or Wraith, and 4 Minion Levels for a Wight Lord or Wraith Lord.

The sum cost in Minion Levels of all the desired abilities, plus the base cos, is then converted into an Essence cost, possibly influenced by some traits that the Summoning or Animating character may haVE, or some other circumstances, which dictate that the cost is not derived from the left-most Essence cost column, but shifted one or more columns to the right.

If the necromancer character is eligible for more than one such column shift, take the one biggest shift and perform it as is, e.g. 3 or 4 columns. The second-biggest shift is divided by 2 and rounded up. The third-biggest and lower shifts are divided by 2 and rounded down. In this way it is more attractive to have an ability that gives one big column shift, rather than several abilities that give small column shifts.

Advice

Include any and all pertinent advice here. The goal is to increase the chance of each player having fun, by giving advice helping the player to decide whether to buy the ability or not (if the article is about one or more abilities) or use the option (if the article is about something that characters can choose to do), and later on how to make use of the ability (e.g. to avoid any pitfalls that aren't extremely obvious).

Please note

Clarify, elaborate, try to predict and answer questions that are somewhat likely to be asked during character creation or during play.

The world

A section mainly for the GM, or worldbuilder, about the world impact of the phenomenon, e.g. an Item Creation Power, or an attribute or other stat that may sometimes be starkly high or low relative to the Human average.

World impact

Talk about the effect on the world that this phenomenon would realistically have (taking into account such facts of human nature as greed, ambition and sexual impulses).

The Ärth setting

Talk about how this trait appears and functions in the Ärth historical fantasy setting.

Design Notes

Talk briefly about what the purpose of the mechanic is. Omit this section if it is extremely obvious to the target audience.

Quick mini-glossary

Explain terms of great relevance to the subject matter of the article here, but not terms that are of generally great importance (e.g. RD).
